The Safe Boating Campaign, by the National Safe Boating Council, is a worldwide effort focused on responsible boating, encouraging boaters to always wear a life jacket while on the water. Ready, Set, Wear It is now implemented by campaign partners on various dates throughout the summer boating season. These family-friendly events teach boaters about the importance of always wearing a life jacket, along with helpful care and maintenance information. With a bit of fun along the way! See safeboatingcampaign.com for more information. The Cape Fear Sail & Power Squadron provides for proclamations for many cities and townships in the Cape Fear area to recognize the National Safe Boating Week, and call the observance to the attention of all their citizens to the practice of safe and responsible boating. Further, they support the efforts and activities of the Cape Fear Sail & Power Squadron to provide boat education and civic service to their community.
